The trend in Mexico toward mixed-use condo-hotel developments continues with the announcement of the Sian Ka'an Golf Resort & Spa on the Riviera Maya.
A construction timetable was not announced, but developers said they soon plan to start selling condominiums at special pre-construction prices.
Mexico is experiencing a boom in master-planned projects such as Sian Ka'an as investors look for a diversified income source and buyers seek the security and convenience of gated communities with ample amenities.
The Sian Ka'an development will include a 300-room resort made up of 25 three-story buildings, each housing 12 units.
Partners in the development include hotel operator Gran Bahia Principe, Mexico-based sales and marketing firm Mexico Alive and Condo Hotel GBP.
The Sian Ka'an project will include a 27-hole Robert Trent Jones II-designed golf course, a private beach club, restaurants, a fitness center and spa, tennis center and a medical center.
