Southwest Airlines Vacations has several incentives for clients planning a summer or early fall getaway. Among the offerings are two nights free when five are booked, with air, at any of the hotels at Disneyland Resort.
Clients also must book a three-day or longer Disneyland Resort Park Hopper Bonus Ticket, but then Southwest adds two free days onto that. The package is valid for travel through Sept. 26. The rate for a family of four traveling in mid-July and staying at the Disneyland Hotel, for example, is $1,900 from New York LaGuardia.
Tammy Yeck, regional associate marketing manager for Southwest Airlines Vacations, said the company is happy to work with home-based/independent agents.
"What they need to book and receive commissions is either a valid ARC number themselves, or they can use the ARC number from their host agency," she said. "If agents are under a host, we recommend contacting their host to find out their preferred procedure on booking with Southwest Vacations and VAX VacationAccess, as oftentimes the host will require the agent to use a pseudonym or code in the name field."
Yeck said that because Southwest is already affiliated with most host agencies, agents don't have to register separately. "However, if the independent agent is not affiliated with a host agency or the host isn't registered with us, we ask they register by filling out the new agency application and registering in VAX," Yeck added.
The company's website, www.southwestvacations.com, details a slew of special deals under way now through fall. In addition to several Disneyland Resort packages, it's also featuring vacations to other destinations.
Its Big Easy package, starting at $211 per person at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside, is available if booked with air by Aug. 23, for travel July 5 through Aug. 30.
Most of Southwest Airlines Vacations' packages require a five-day advance purchase.
