Later, gators

Today ends my stint as managing editor of Crossroads, making this my farewell column. Starting on Monday I'll be toiling on an Internet startup in New York City, details about which are so closely guarded that if I reveal them here I'm told I could get detention, or worse.

Am I sorry to leave this job? Hell yes. I've had a bang-up time putting this site together every day. I've had an outstanding crew to work with. I even love my boss. And I've also had a great audience.

So thank you for coming here, for getting your news here, for giving me this space to sweat out a joke or a thought every day. Thanks for writing in, letting me know what's working and what's not.

As I head for the door, I can even appreciate your gripes. They're surely more valuable than your silence. So don't go easy on my successor. Complain, already. It keeps us on our toes. Adios, amigos.
