With its return to cruising Alaska for the first time since 2005, Crystal Cruises created several Experiences of Discovery options designed to entertain and inspire passengers on the line's 2011 spring and summer sailings aboard the Symphony.
In addition to wellness and culinary programs, seven 11-night itineraries sailing to Alaska ports roundtrip from San Francisco will feature a performing arts focus, including an expanded series of Emerging Artists cruises.
Through Crystal's partnership with the Music Center, in Los Angeles, upcoming stars and finalists in the center's annual Spotlight Awards will perform in various musical realms including classical voice, piano, dance and others. These performances are slated for sailings May 21; June 2, 14 and 26; July 8 and 20; and Aug. 1.
On the May 9 cruise, guest fitness experts will help passengers explore wellness through presentations on general health and free classes in tai chi, Pilates, yoga and other specialties.
The line will offer a culinary-themed voyage, departing Aug. 13, with cooking demonstrations and hands-on instruction from guest chefs, wine tasting with sommeliers and guest experts.
Crystal's Alaska voyages visit Vancouver and Victoria, British Columbia; Sitka, Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan, Alaska, with eight itineraries cruising Glacier Bay (the June 2 voyage visits Hubbard Glacier).
Fares are from $4,650 per person, double occupancy. Agents can view the full Alaska calendar at www.crystalcruises.com.
