Northwest said it's protecting agent commissions on tickets that
were refunded during its pilots strike, illustrating just how fair
and considerate an airline can be toward the retail community that
helps fill its seats. In other news, hell froze over, and pigs
Disney Cruise Line's VP of sales and passenger services, John
Severini, explaining why the line unbundled its air/sea fares, said
some travelers don't understand that the fares include air, and
"people think we are more expensive than we are." Wish I could
figure out what was bundled with that overpriced Pepsi I once had
at the bar in the Grand Floridian.
Well, it's been one year since the airlines imposed the last
round of commission cuts. What should we do to celebrate? I know,
let's all get together, have a few drinks and worry about when the
next round is coming.
