Ritz-Carlton gives wedding couples incentive to return

The Caribbean is a no-brainer for couples set on a destination wedding, partly because of the islands' proximity to much of the U.S. and partly because a Caribbean stay is a good value.

Ritz-Carlton is now adding to that value with the Reconnect package.

When booking a destination wedding on the Reconnect package for a minimum of three nights (25 rooms or more), couples receive a certificate for a second honeymoon free on their first anniversary. The certificate is redeemable at any of the five Ritz-Carlton hotels in the Caribbean.

The Reconnect package, so named because it enables wedding guests to spend time with family and friends, includes nightly accommodations, daily breakfast for two and a $110 to $200 daily resort credit for use at food and beverage outlets or spa and recreation activities.

The hotels are the Ritz-Carlton Cancun ($539 with $130 credit); the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman ($659 with $130 credit); the Ritz-Carlton Golf & Spa Resort Rose Hall, Jamaica ($465 with $120 credit); the Ritz-Carlton St. Thomas ($745 with $200 credit); and the Ritz-Carlton San Juan Hotel, Spa & Casino ($475 with $110 credit).

Rates are for Jan. 1 to April 30 and are per room, per night, double. Taxes, gratuities and resort fees are extra.

The following are wedding/anniversary options:

Wedding and Anniversary in Cancun: Couples receive the blessing of a Mayan priest as they exchange vows on the beach at the Ritz-Carlton Cancun. For their first wedding anniversary, they can return to the beach for a cabana dinner at Casitas.

Wedding in Grand Cayman and Anniversary in San Juan: Couples who share a passion for food and wine can celebrate their wedding dinner in the private dining room at Blue by Eric Ripert at the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman, and then toast their one-year anniversary at Laurent Tourondel's BLT Steak at the Ritz-Carlton San Juan.

Wedding in Jamaica and Anniversary in Grand Cayman: For the golf enthusiast, a wedding on the White Witch Golf Course can be followed, a year later, by an anniversary in Grand Cayman with nine holes of golf on Greg Norman's Blue Tip.

Wedding and Anniversary in St. Thomas: Couples can host their guests at a wedding reception on the 53-foot, 49-passenger Lady Lynsey catamaran and return on their first anniversary for a snorkeling excursion or sunset catamaran sail.
