It's not 70 degrees and climbing in the Northeast like it was a
couple weeks ago, but it's not exactly bone-chilling yet, either,
and it's been conspicuously snow-free. If Mother Nature doesn't
bottom-out the mercury and produce some white stuff soon, the only
skiing anybody's going to be doing this season will be of the
Nintendo variety. And I don't think that's commissionable.
The DOT issued its roughly-annual warning to travelers to be
wary of operators selling sporting-event tickets that they don't
have. I'd say that's awfully good advice. People who sell things
they don't have generally should be approached with caution.
Every time I see Starwood's new brand, W, mentioned in print, I
think it's a typo. And how do you pronounce it? "Double-you" or
just "wuh?" Of course, the confusion is making me think about the
brand name, so I guess one would call that effective marketing.
