The Resort at Squaw Creek, a Lake Tahoe wedding destination, is celebrating the California Supreme Court's ruling on same-sex marriages by offering discounts on wedding packages to all couples, gay and straight, who marry at the resort by Dec. 31.
"This is a historic time, with weddings now available to everyone, so we wanted to present something special to mark the occasion," said Heimo Brandstatter, assistant general manager.
The top-tier wedding packages are the Golden Aspen and the Emerald, both offered at 15% off the regular per-person price of $185 and $155, respectively. A 10% discount accompanies the Palisades and Sierra packages, regularly $125 and $95 per person, respectively.
A $10,000 food and beverage minimum is required for Friday and Saturday night weddings on each of the packages.
The Golden Aspen and Emerald dinners are identical (three-course service, premium wine and champagne). The main difference between the two is that the Golden Aspen includes five-hour bar service while the Emerald offers a four-hour bar. Both include butler-passed appetizers and a wedding cake.

The resort provides transportation services to and from Reno-Tahoe Airport for a fee. Private jet service to nearby Truckee Tahoe Airport, with limousine service to the resort, also can be arranged. Preferred-guest room rates are available to parties of 10 or more.
