THE MANDARIN ORIENTAL HOTEL GROUP plans to manage a second hotel in Macau, scheduled to open in 2009. The hotel will be part of a 2.6-million-square-foot mixed-use project in the Nape waterfront region near the MGM Grand Casino with views of the Nam Van Lake, the Macau Tower and Taipa Island. It will house 210 guest rooms, 42 of which are suites. The hotel will have a 4,000-square-foot ballroom, four meetings rooms, a spa with 12 private treatment rooms, a gymnasium and a large outdoor swimming pool.

CHINA SOUTHERN AIRLINES is promoting its new Airbus A330 aircraft with lie-flat seats with a special fare of $732 per person for a roundtrip business class fare from Hong Kong to Beijing. The deal includes one night on the Executive Floor of the Beijing Hilton or Marriott Beijing Hotel West. The offer is valid through Dec. 31. LE MERIDIEN KHAO LAK Beach & Spa Resort in Thailand will re-open Oct. 15, finally finished with its refurbishment to repair damage from last years Asia tsunami. The property closed in December 2004.
