AIR FRANCE AND
TRANSAVIA.COM, a wholly owned subsidiary of Air
France-KLM, are poised to launch a French carrier on the
international medium-haul leisure market. The new airline will be
managed separately from Air France and will operate under the
Transavia.com brand, its sister company in the Netherlands. By next
summer, the carrier will serve about 10 Mediterranean destinations
in Morocco, Tunisia, Spain, Italy and Egypt via 67 weekly flights
out of Paris Orly airport, with another five being considered by
the following winter.
EUROPE'S 2006 SALES of Thalys tickets in North America are
up 12% over the same period in 2005, with worldwide sales up 5.5% a
year in 2004 and 2005. In 2008, new portions of high-speed lines in
Belgium and in the Netherlands will enable Thalys to increase
speeds on all segments, trimming an hour from the Paris-Amsterdam
and Paris-Cologne routes. Families with up to four children can
take advantage of a Kids Ride Free program, good for travel on
Thalys to and from Marne La Vallee near Disneyland Resort Paris
when booked by March 29. To book, visit http://agent.raileurope.com.
AIRLINES AND RED CARNATION HOTELS are offering a joint
promotion that enables Red Carnation guests to book a New York/
London roundtrip flight on the carrier by Dec. 31 and bring a
companion for free. The offer is valid for travel through March 31.

Egerton House Hotel, the Milestone Hotel, 41, the Chesterfield
Mayfair, the Montague on the Gardens and the Rubens at the Palace.
