VISIT
LONDON teamed up with TripAdvisor to provide
user-generated hotel reviews on VisitLondon.com.
The collaboration will allow for the development of features such
as top 10 rated hotels and top 10 rated visitor attractions based
on reviews.
TOURCRAFTERS is luring off-season travelers
with a Madrid Hot Deal package, priced from $569 per person,
double, through March 13. Rates include roundtrip air from New York
to Madrid, four nights in a hotel, daily breakfast, hotel service
charges and taxes. Flights are available from additional cities for
supplements ranging from $15 for Miami to $155 for San Francisco.

ACCOR sold 57 hotels in France and
Switzerland for about $755 million to a European real estate
consortium. The Novotel, Mercure, Ibis, All Seasons and Etap Hotel
properties involved in the transaction represent a total of 8,200
rooms. Accor will continue to operate the hotels under the same
brands through 12-year leases for up to 84 years.
SWISS
INTERNATIONAL AIR LINES was named Europe's Leading Airline
at the World Travel Awards, and its hub, Zurich Airport, was named
Europe's Leading Airport. As of December, the airline relocated to
Terminal 4 at New York's Kennedy Airport and opened a new lounge
there. In addition three new lounges are open at the Geneva
Airport. Swiss first-class and business-class menus now showcase
the cuisine of Canton Grisons of St. Moritz.
EURAIL
GROUP named the Netherlands Board of Tourism and
Conventions its official PR representative in North America. Eurail
Group sells rail passes to non-European visitors; 54% of its
customers are from North America. The NBTC already represents
Eurail in Asia through its wholly owned offices in Japan and China
as well as through its partners in South Korea and
India.
