Travel Weekly's Hawaii E-letter: Jan. 1, 2007

THE EMBASSY SUITES WAIKIKI BEACH WALK has opened. The property, owned by Outrigger Enterprises, has one- and two-bedroom suites in two 22-story towers.  The property is the first Embassy Suites property in Waikiki. Introductory pricing for the hotel starts at $249 per night, including daily breakfast. Call (800) 445-8667.

HAWAIIAN AILRINES has temporarily suspended daily, nonstop service between San Diego and Maui through March 15. The suspension is due to the delayed delivery of Boeing 767s as part of an expansion to Hawaiian's fleet. Hawaiian is accommodating travelers affected by the suspension of service by rebooking them on its San-Diego-Honolulu service with an interisland flight to Maui.

QANTAS-OWNED JETSTAR has begun thrice-weekly service between Honolulu and Sydney and twice-weekly service between Honolulu and Melbourne. Flights are aboard 303-passenger Airbus A330s.

PLEASANT HOLIDAYS is offering a two-for-one air fare for bookings on select United flights from Los Angeles and San Francisco to Kauai for travel through March 14. The offer is available with fly-drive vacations as well as vacations that include hotel stays of three nights or more. Bookings must be paid in full within 24 hours of reservation, and the free fare is subject to applicable taxes. Blackout dates apply. Call (800) 448-3333 or visit www.pleasantagent.com.
