NEST, the Network of Entrepreneurs Selling Travel, is holding its NEST FEST '07 annual conference. NEST agents, preferred suppliers and staff representatives with gather at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on Dec. 2 to 4. Headlining the event will be Stuart Ellis-Myers, a well-known speaker on communication, leadership, sales and customer relationship management practices. Also, Dave Stockert, director of training for Holland America Line, will present a workshop on how to proactively sell more travel. The event will feature educational workshops, as well. THE TRAVEL INSTITUTE, meanwhile, partnered with the Home-Based Travel Agent Expo & Conference, set for Dec. 4 to 6, also at the Mandalay Bay, to bring educational components and testing opportunities to retailers. On the first day of the expo, the institute will offer courses such as "Powerful Tech Alternatives for Home-Based Agents," and "Strategies to Successful Up-selling for Home-Based Agents." DATEBOOK: The outside Sales Support Network's Arizona Chapter is hosting a meeting to learn about Insight Vacations' home-based agent program.
