Travel Weekly's Home-based Agent E-letter: June 9, 2008

CRUISE PLANNERS, the South Florida-based national cruise agency with a franchised network of 700 travel professionals, launched its Web-based CP University program. Designed to help Cruise Planners agents maximize sales and manage their franchises more effectively, the CP University program features a curriculum covering more than 20 topics, including marketing, advertising, public relations, product updates, technology, group and individual sales, customer care and Web marketing. Free to members, webinars are held during morning, afternoon and evening hours. CP University also includes seminars at sea and annual conventions where agents have an opportunity to meet one-on-one with the experts and cruise line representatives.

ASTA's first Retail Travel Leadership Summit will feature a debate about the cruise industry. Adam Aron, chairman and CEO of personal consulting firm World Leisure Partners, and Robert Simonson, an analyst with Chicago-based investment firm William Blair & Co., will headline the debate titled "The Financial Future of the Cruise Line Industry."
