Travel Weekly's Home-based Agent E-letter: March 26, 2007

CRUISE SEMINARS held by the National Association of Commissioned Travel Agents are proving to be popular activities for NACTA members. So much so, in fact, that the trade group has started monitoring the number of cruises that members have sailed in the past few years. The change is geared toward accommodating the groups growing membership. "We have a limited number of sailings and cabins and want to be sure that all of our members have ample opportunity to experience these programs. If you have sailed many times in the past few years with NACTA, we may be contacting you to advise you of a possible wait list situation based on availability," a notice on NACTAs Web site explains. TRIPOLOGY.COM, set to roll out in April, is the new name for, an agent referral site that debuted last year. After registering on and indicating the type of travel or destination they specialize in, travel retailers are informed via e-mail about potential clients seeking itineraries that fit the agents specialization. Agents can purchase a lead for a trip theyd like to pitch, and if they are among the first three agents to do so, they will obtain the clients contact information. Leads range from $1 to $15, depending on the trips complexity. Travel Weekly readers who register using the code TW20 will receive a $20 credit toward leads, a spokesman for the site said. Visit the site for more details.
