WANT SOME
INSIGHTS into the tour operator business? Travel
Impressions president and CEO Steve Gorga will provide information
about the travel and tour operator industry to travel agents as
part of an on-line webinar scheduled for May 22, at noon EST, with
Travel Executive Forum, a free online venue that enables agents to
interact with travel industry leaders. During the webinar, Gorga
will provide suggestions on what to look for in a tour operator
partner as well as an update on Travel Impressions' products and
services. A Q&A session will follow. As an incentive for
participating in the webinar, retailers will have a chance to win a
four-night vacation at the Excellence Riviera Cancun, an
all-inclusive resort on Mexico's Riviera Maya. To register for the
webinar, travel agents should visit www.travelexecutiveforum.com and click on the
"register now" button on the homepage. The webinar is open to the
first 1,000 registrants.
ROYAL
CARIBBEAN INTERNATIONAL this month will add a feature to
its agents-only Web site, CruisingPower.com, that enables agents to
promote themselves on the line's consumer Web site, RoyalCaribbean.com. The tool allows agents to create
an online profile, with a company logo or photo, CLIA
accreditation, and any specialties in market segments and
destinations via CruisingPower.com, which will then be accessible
by consumers through the "Locate a Travel Agent" tool on
RoyalCaribbean.com, the cruise line said. Once launched, consumers
can take advantage of the function by searching for a local or
specialized travel agency by name, city, state, and zip code and
view the agency's profile by clicking on the "About this Agency"
link on the results page.
VACATION.COM in June will roll out the
Vacation.com Power of Partnership (POP) awards to recognize and
reward outstanding suppliers. The awards will be based on votes
from Vacation.com members on AgentNet, with the results revealed at
a special ceremony during Vacation.com's 9th International
Conference and Trade Show in New Orleans, June 27 to July 1. Agents
can vote for suppliers based on quality of service; marketing
support; value; point of differentiation the supplier offers
through the Vacation.com relationship; reliability, responsiveness
and effective problem solving, and overall commitment to the
Vacation.com travel agent channel. To register online for the
conference, visit www.AgentNet.com.
