Travel Weekly's Home-based Agent E-letter: October 31, 2005

BACK TO THE BIG EASY: Gray Line New Orleans resumed three of its New Orleans tours on limited schedules. A Gray Line announcement noted that the French Quarter and many of New Orleans' greatest architectural assets are intact. "As New Orleans continues to restore and rebuild," it said, "Gray Line remains a part of the fabric of this great city and we are pleased to announce that our tour operations have resumed." The tours that resumed are the French Quarter, the Old South and Oak Alley Plantation and the Swamp and Bayou itineraries. For more information, visit Gray Line's travel agent site at www.grayline.com/traveltrade.

EDUCATION UPDATE: Hilton Hawaii relaunched its online seminar program for travel agents: Hilton Hawaii University. Agents can complete the five-part seminar on line at www.hiltonhawaiiuniversity.com. The site focuses on segments such as family, romance or active travelers. The completed five-part seminar series is worth four Continuing Education Credits from The Travel Institute. Agents who complete any of the seminars receive 1,000 HiltonHHonors points, and an additional 5,000 points (a total of 10,000 points) if they finish all five by Jan. 31.

AS AN INCENTIVE, retailers who complete all of the seminars will also be entered into a sweepstakes to win a Hawaii vacation with three nights at each Hilton Hawaii resort -- a trip said to be valued at more than $9,000. Hilton Hawaii comprises three resorts on the islands: Hilton Waikoloa Village on the Big Island and the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa in Waikiki and the Doubletree Alana Hotel -- Waikiki, both on Oahu.
