INN-SIDE STORY: A new 90-room Courtyard by Marriott (www.marriott.com) will open just outside Galway later this year & The 5-star Conrad Hotel (www.conradhotels.com) in Dublin underwent $15 million in refurbishment & The 4-star Silver Springs Moran Hotel (www.silverspringshotel.ie) in Cork also has undergone a rehab, to the tune of some $43 million & The Fitzpatrick Hotel Group is plowing $20 million into an expansion of its Dublin designer hotel property, The Morgan (www.themorgan.com), adding 40 new deluxe guestrooms, five boardroom-style meetings rooms and 15 self-catering suites.

MEET 'N GREET: The Merrion Hotel in Dublin is peddling a special summer meetings offer at 75 euros (or about $97.50) per person. The rate, available in July and August, includes free, high-speed/broadband Internet and access to WiFi service; free selection of newspapers; flip chart and screen; mid-morning refreshment break with a selection of teas, coffee, homemade cookies and fresh fruit; working lunch; and afternoon refreshment break, in the terraced gardens, with homemade lemonade and ice pops. NEW FACES: Speaking of meetings and greetings Tourism Ireland has appointed Matthew McElroy, formerly of Continental Airlines, as its new Business Tourism Manager in New York, responsible for the meetings, incentives and conference markets &  Aer Lingus said Dermot Mannion last with Emirates Airlines will take over as its new CEO come August, replacing the legendary Willie Walsh, whos moved on to British Airways.
