MICHELINhas released the first-ever edition
of the "Michelin Guide to Las Vegas." Wynn Las Vegas received a
ranking of Five Red Pavilions, the highest rating available for a
hotel. Wynn was the only resort in Las Vegas to receive that
designation, and one of only eight hotels in North America to earn
it. Wynn Las Vegas is the only casino resort in the world to hold
the Mobil Five-Star, AAA Five Diamond and Michelin Five Red Pavilion designations.

at MGM Grand received three stars, making the restaurant the only
one in Las Vegas -- and one of only five in North America and 57 in
the world -- to get that rating. Las Vegas restaurants earning two
stars were Alex at Wynn Las Vegas, Guy Savoy at Caesars Palace and
Picasso at the Bellagio.
THE SILVERTON CASINO
LODGEplans to complete a $130 million
expansion by early 2009. The casino and public spaces will increase
by 35,000 square feet to include 800 new slot machines, a
high-limit gaming salon, a race and sports book, a poker lounge, a
new retail shop, three new restaurants and a large center bar. A
$15 million pool venue promises five pools; 30 cabanas; five fire
pits; three bars; a landscaped beach area with hot tubs, cold
plunges and hammocks; and a stage capable of accommodating
entertainment acts for crowds of more than 2,000. A 1,500-space
parking garage will have valet and VIP parking. Also, the hotels
Twin Creeks restaurant will reopen on Dec. 4 after undergoing a
$3.7 million makeover.
THE STRIP will be
closed to cars and buses on New Year's Eve, but the Las Vegas
Monorail will be in operation from 7 a.m. to 3 a.m. The Las Vegas
Monorail Co. will offer an all-day pass for $9, a $6 savings. The
monorail covers its entire route -- from the MGM Grand to the
