THE MCCARRAN RENT-A-CAR CENTER has opened its doors. Situated on 68 acres about three miles south of McCarran International Airport, the $166.8 million facility includes a three-story, 111,000-square-foot customer service building and a 1.8 million-square-foot parking garage capable of accommodating more than 5,000 vehicles. The Rent-A-Car Center is expected to make travel easier for visitors to Las Vegas: Roads to the center were improved to accommodate heavier traffic loads, and travelers flying on participating airlines can check their bags at the facility up to 12 hours prior to their flight. THE RED ROCK CASINO RESORT SPA garnered eight of 13 Casino Design Awards last week during the fifth annual Casino Design Conference, held in New Orleans. The year-old casino's wins included "Best Interior Design;" "Best Interior Design...Retail Facility, Restaurant, Nightclub or Spa" for the T Bones Chophouse; "Best Exterior Landscaping Design;" and "Best Architectural Design for a Casino/Resort over $200 Million." The only other Las Vegas-based winner, Wynn Las Vegas, took home the award for "Best Interior Landscaping Design."
