DION'S final performance in her blockbuster production "A
New Day..." will be Dec. 15. The show has been seen by an estimated
2.5 million people since it debuted in March 2003 at Caesars
Palace's $95 million Coliseum, which was designed for the show. The
final block of tickets for performances from August through
December will go on sale March 1. Tickets, priced between $87.50

AIRPORT is busier than usual these days. Mexicana has
launched twice-weekly service between Las Vegas and the General
Rafael Buelna Culiacan International Airport. in Culiacan, Mexico.
In addition, on Feb. 11 US Airways will launch nonstop service
between its Las Vegas hub and West Palm Beach, Fla., on Sundays,
Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.
FILM FESTIVAL kicks off a series of independent,
underground, foreign and documentary films at the Tropicana Cinemas
this month with the showing of "Sleeping Dogs Lie" and
"Sherrybaby." Bobcat Goldthwait, who directed the former, will
attend the 7:15 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. showings on Jan. 12 to introduce
the film and participate in a question-and-answer session with the
audience. Tickets are $8 for general admission and $6 for students
and seniors and can be purchased at the Tropicana Cinemas box

doors last week, offering a glimpse of MGM Mirage's $7 billion
city-within-a-city project, which is scheduled to debut in late
