MGM MIRAGE launched a new GDS code, MV, for Bellagio, MGM Grand, the Mirage, TI (Treasure Island) and New York-New York. Stay tuned, though. The company announced that in the future it would implement the new code for its remaining Las Vegas properties: Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Monte Carlo, Excalibur and Circus Circus.

TRAVELERS NOW can book their choice of 23 shows including Celine Dions A New Day, Barry Manilows Music and Passion, and Mamma Mia! through American West Vacations Web site, thanks to the companys new partnership with Vegas.com. For more information, clients can go to www.americawestvacations.com and select the Vegas Shows link from the home page or the Vacation Planning menu. Show tickets also can be purchased via phone at (800) 235-9298.

VISITORS TOVegas.com now can preview video clips of current shows and upcoming entertainment, enabling them to decide what events they want to purchase tickets for. Located at www.vegas.com/shows, the clips include shows such as Elton Johns The Red Piano, Blue Man Group, La Femme, V Ultimate Variety Show and the Cirque du Soleil shows Mystere and Zumanity.

THE AMP SALON in the Palms Casino Resort features an over-the-top AMP After-Hours package that costs $2,000 per person or $3,000 per couple. Available from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, the plan guarantees that clients will have the salon entirely to themselves during their appointment. Participants will be greeted with candlelight and chairs draped in black satin before they settle in to sip Cristal champagne and nibble on appetizers and desserts while receiving a platinum pedicure given by a nail technician modeling the latest in lingerie fashions. If participants want, a male dancer serving as a butler can be added to experience.
