CONCERT
CHANGE: The July 2 centennial concert starring the Red Hot
Chili Peppers and Weezer, originally slated for the parking lot of
the Las Vegas Convention Center, instead will take place at the
Silver Bowl Sports Complex soccer fields next to Sam Boyd Stadium.
Concert organizers including Clear Channel Entertainment
Properties, the Las Vegas Centennial Committee and officials
representing the City of Las Vegas and Clark County changed the
location to provide a larger, more comfortable setting for the
50,000 ticket holders expected to attend the event. Doors will open
at 5 p.m. for the concert, which is expected to start at 7 p.m. and
now includes a $100,000 fireworks finale. Directions and a map to
the Silver Bowl Sports Complex as well as a list of approved items
that concertgoers can bring to the site can be found at http://www.vegasrocks100.com.
