LAKE LAS VEGAS RESORT is offering a new idea for a meetings and events venue: a 3,952-square-foot floating stage that can be towed to and anchored at different parts of the 320-acre lake and its 10 miles of shoreline, including MonteLago Village, Reflection Bay Golf Club, the Ritz-Carlton and the Hyatt Regency. The stage can be used for various types of events, including theatrical and musical entertainment. For more information or to book the stage for an event, contact Sally Dewhurst at (702) 992-7322.

MONTELAGO VILLAGE: Through Jan. 17, the floating stage takes on another identity -- the Montelago Village Ice Skating Rink, which charges $11 per hour for adults and $8 per hour for children 10 and younger. Skate rentals run $4 per person. Private lessons are $75 per person, per hour or $40 per person, per half hour. The floating rink is available for private parties. For more information about how to reserve it for an event, call (888) 387-1234 or visit www.letsgoiceskating.com.

WINTER WEEKENDS: In conjunction with the ice rink's debut, MonteLago Village and Lake Las Vegas Resort will feature Winter Weekends, which will include a variety of activities such as a caroling, carriage rides, holiday shopping and visits from Santa. In addition, every Sunday visitors can take a Lake Las Vegas yacht cruise aboard the La Contessa. The cost is $25 for couples, $15 for singles and $5 for children. For more information about Lake Las Vegas' holiday festivities schedule, call (866) 399-2753 or log on to www.montelagovillage.com.

PARADISE ON ICE: For visitors who would like to combine a stay at Lake Las Vegas with a spin around the floating ice rink, the Ritz-Carlton Lake Las Vegas through Jan. 16 offers the Paradise On Ice package. Priced from $279 per room, per night, single or double, the plan includes a one-night stay in resort view accommodations; American breakfast for two; a two-hour ice skating session for two, including equipment use; post-skate gourmet hot chocolate tasting for two; valet parking; and the resort fee.
