TRAVEL
IMPRESSIONS is promoting Mexico's lucrative weddings and
honeymoon market with a couple of deals. The company is promoting a
$500 agent incentive for booking a wedding group of 10 rooms or
more at Karisma Resorts' Azul Blue Hotel & Spa and El Dorado
Royale Resort & Spa in the Riviera Maya. In addition, couples
who book a group wedding or honeymoon of 10 rooms or more at either
property will receive a free gift. The $500 agent bonus and free
gift for the customer are in effect for bookings made at either
property by June 18 for travel through January 2008.
THE
OPERATOR also launched a Blissful Beginnings promotion for
honeymooners at more than 170 properties in its product line,
including several in Mexico. Blissful Beginnings offers such things
as a resort credit of $100 per room, free nights and room upgrades,
free spa services and complimentary meals in addition to the
regular package inclusions. The promotion is valid for bookings of
three nights or longer at participating resorts made by April 30
for travel through Dec. 20. At the Excellence Riviera Cancun, for
example, Travel Impressions is offering a $100 resort credit per

AEROMEXICO launched a Super Plan promotion
through Jan. 15 that enables passengers traveling roundtrip between
the U.S. (and other destinations) and Mexico to visit other Mexican
cities for an additional $100 to $300, depending on the travel date
and destination. The Super Plan ticket can be purchased before or
after the international segment begins but must be purchased before

MEANWHILE, Aeromexico is expanding its
service between Los Angeles and both Aguascalientes and Leon/Bajio
to six flights a week, with plans for daily service starting in
May. Flights between Los Angeles and Aguascalientes operate daily
except Mondays and will become daily on May 15. Flights between Los
Angeles and Leon/Bajio operate daily except Saturday and will
become daily on May 19. Before the most current expansion,
Aeromexico flew three times a week to Aguascalientes and four
flights a week to Leon/Bajio.
ARTURO
ESCAIP MANZUR was appointed general director of the Cancun
Convention and Visitors Bureau. He replaces Artemio Santos Santos,
who took a new position with the Mexico Tourism Board. Escaip
Manzur was formerly the head of COPARMEX, a union representing
Mexican industrial workers.
