property has been designed to resemble a Mediterranean hillside
village with Mexican influences. The property's 54 standard suites
and five one-bedroom suites will feature individual plunge pools,
terraces and ocean views. The Capella Ixtapa will have a
6,000-square-foot spa and 1,300-square-foot fitness center; three
restaurants, and two swimming pools. Elsewhere in Mexico, Capella

Capella Bahia Maroma in the Riviera Maya in the winter of
2008-2009.
GROUND HAS BEEN BROKEN on
Destino, a mixed-use resort development on the Baja Peninsula. The
resort will ultimately include a boutique hotel, a spa, several
restaurants and upscale residences in a Mediterranean-inspired
village with an oceanside walkway. The development is located at
Salsipuedes Bay, north of Ensenada and about an-hour-and-a-half
drive south from San Diego. According to developer Mar y Cielo
Development, the first phase of the project will be completed in
early 2009. Homes in the gated community will range in price from
$180,000 to $400,000, and the development will eventually include a
pier for private yachts and a helicopter pad.
