REAL
RESORTS will unveil a number of property enhancements and
a new name for a Playa del Carmen property, in an effort to give
its Royal brand a cache all its own. The 459-suite, adults-only
Royal Porto Real Playa del Carmen will be renamed the Royal Playa
del Carmen this month and receive a number of enhancements,
including an online check-in option, upgraded beds with pillow-top
mattresses, concierge-level upgrades (for suite-category rooms
except deluxe junior suites), reservation-only beach cabanas and
two new specialty restaurants. The name change and enhancements are
timed to coincide with the opening next month of the 285-room Royal
Cancun, which will give Real two Royal-branded resorts catering to
a more upscale clientele.
REAL'S
NEW Royal Online Check-In option enables guests staying in
either of the two Royal properties to check-in online up to 48
hours prior to arrival. Modeled after the online check-in offered
by the airlines, the optional service was designed to streamline
and expedite the check-in process and distinguish the more upscale
Royal brand from Real's other two brands, Real and Grand. The
electronic check-in option is available at either www.theroyalcancun.com or www.theroyalplayadelcarmen.com. A room selection
feature will enable guests to pick a room from a graphical map
based on the initial reservation and preconfirmed preferences. Upon
arrival, guests meet with a dedicated online check-in service agent
to retrieve their key and a preloaded iPod. For additional
information or reservations, call (800) 543-7556.

2 to Dec. 20, 2007, agents can leave most of their clothes behind
and visit the new, 151-room Desire Resort & Spa in Los Cabos

Jacuzzi area with a "translucent, open-air shower," a spa, and, of
course, a disco. For clients, the resort is offering a discount of
$50 per night per couple for a minimum four-night stay. Stay in one
of the 14 Jacuzzi Suites and you get a four-person hot tub, a
