THE MEXICO TRAVEL MARKETPLACE trade show series will kick off on March 11 in Chicago, bringing together Mexico's leading suppliers for small-group, face-to-face meetings with agents. The trade shows are being coordinated by Oregon-based Destination Ventures. Nine events are planned so far this year, beginning in Chicago and ending May 15 in Sacramento, Calif. This year's theme will be "Luxury, Lifestyle, Living," with each destination and supplier discussing their "luxury, upscale products and opportunities for longer-stay vacations" in Mexico, according to Greg Custer, vice president of Destination Ventures. DELTA VACATIONS teamed with Riu Hotels & Resorts properties in Mexico to offer savings of up to 25% on packages booked at participating Riu properties by March and April. In the Riviera Maya, for example, Delta Vacations is offering up to 25% off on packages to the Riu Palace Riviera Maya when booked by March 31. The operator is also offering 25% off packages to the Riu Palace Las Americas in Cancun. Delta Vacations packages to Mexico are commissionable at 15%. LETSGOMEXICO.COM launched its redesigned Web site. More than 1,000 accommodations are included on the redesigned site, including resorts, hotels and bed-and-breakfasts in more than 50 Mexican cities. Popular destinations include Cancun, the Riviera Maya, Mexico City and Acapulco. New features on the site include Google map integration, 10 new destinations, customer reviews and more photos and descriptions. OASIS HOTELS & RESORTS is offering its Weddings at Oasis package, valued at $1,199, for free. The promotion will be available to couples who book a minimum of five double rooms for at least four nights and get married at a participating Oasis property in Mexico. Participating resorts are the Grand Oasis Cancun, Grand Oasis Riviera Maya, Grand Oasis Playa, Oasis Cancun and Oasis Viva Beach. PARAISO DE LA BONITA, a 90-room boutique hotel in the Riviera Maya, is promoting a fourth night free through Dec. 19, with prices starting at $1,800 per person, double, from April 14 to Oct. 31. The promotion includes daily breakfast for two, a three-course dinner for two, daily afternoon tea, two 50-minute massages (one per person), roundtrip airport transfers in one of the resort's Lincoln Navigators and a welcome bottle of tequila.
