CABO SAN LUCAS has been rebranded the ME Cabo, making it
the third property within the ME by Melia portfolio of hotels and
the second of the new brand's properties in Mexico. The first ME
hotel in Mexico, ME Cancun, opened last month. The "new" ME Cabo
recently completed a multimillion-dollar renovation. The 150-room
ME Cabo features the brand's signature Yhi Spa, a 7,036-square-foot
space featuring treatment rooms, a fitness center and a Temascal
sweat lodge. Rooms feature Wi-FI Internet access; flat-screen TVs;
an entertainment center with such things as iPod adaptors and
docking stations; and beds with pillow-top mattresses. Restaurants
include the Passion Club and the beachside Deck, Grill and Lounge.
Guests have free access to the Nikki Beach Club, which features
poolside day beds; live music and entertainment; and a restaurant.
GROUP, one of Mexico's top resort development and
ownership companies, said it acquired oceanfront lots on Isla
Mujeres and on the bay of Ensenada Blanca in Loreto to build
resorts in each location. "With the proven success of our Villa La
Estancia and Villa del Palmar brands in Cabo San Lucas and Puerto
Vallarta, our plan is to build these properties side by side on
other destinations," said Owen Perry, one of the Villa Group's
owners. Property details and opening dates were not disclosed. The

THE UPSCALE Las Ventanas al Paraiso in Los Cabos will
receive a "bath menu" along with their regular dinner menu when
they dine at the Restaurant. The bath menu offers a choice of
"stress relieving," "rejuvenating," and "sensual & romantic"
baths that will be prepared while the guest is at dinner. The
after-dinner bath menu also includes a variety of champagnes,
tequilas and Cuban cigars. The bath menu is the latest in a long
list of luxury amenities available at Las Ventanas. The resort,
which was the first in Mexico to offer preloaded iPods by the pool,
also offers Mini Cooper convertibles and Porsche Boxsters for rent.
LA BONITA on the Riviera Maya launched a Magnifico March
package for travel from March 1 to 31. The five-night package
offers a savings of $2,000 per room off peak-season rates. The
package includes the fifth night free; accommodations in an
oceanview suite; one dinner for two with wine at La Canoa
restaurant; daily breakfast; a 30-minute spa treatment per guest;

AIRLINES received DOT approval to fly roundtrip between
Dallas/Fort Worth and Mazatlan three times a week starting June 7.
Mazatlan will be Frontier's eighth Mexican destination. The flights
will be operated aboard an Airbus A319. To promote the new service,
Frontier is selling roundtrip tickets starting at $178. Fares must
