A RECORD
1.3 MILLION TOURISTS visited Los Cabos last year, up from
1.2 million in 2005, according to the Los Cabos Tourism Board.
Those tourists arrived at Los Cabos Airport aboard 20,898 flights
last year, up from 18,963 flights in 2005. Hotel occupancy averaged
70% in 2006, representing a gain of 4% despite an increase in the
number of hotel rooms from 9,998 in 2005 to 10,982 last year. The
average room rate also rose last year, up 21% from $166 in 2005 to
$201 in 2006.
THE EMBASSY
SUITES HOTEL MEXICO CITY REFORMA, Embassy Suites first
hotel in Mexico, is promoting a rate of $189 a night weekdays
(Mondays to Thursdays) and $149 on weekends. The rate includes
daily breakfast and cocktails during the nightly managers

DELTA AIR
LINES said it will launch twice-weekly service between Los
Angeles and Los Mochis, Mexico, effective June 2. Los Mochis is an
important agricultural center known for fishing and hunting. To
promote the new service to Los Mochis, Delta is promoting a $99
one-way fare from Los Angeles for reservations made through a
travel agent or Delta.com. Fares must be purchased by Feb. 27 with
travel completed by Dec. 15.
