Travel Weekly's Mexico E-letter: Jan. 9, 2008

CONSTRUCTION IS SCHEDULED to begin this month on Cabo Riviera, a mixed-use development on the east cape of the Baja Peninsula that will include two hotels, a marina and an 18-hole golf course. The development will be located along a three-mile strip of beachfront land near La Ribera, about 45 minutes by car north of the Cabo San Lucas Airport. The project's major selling point will be the marina, which will have 400 channel lots, dry dock storage and concierge services that will enable boat owners to call in advance to have their vessels fueled and prepared for use. The area is one of the top bill-fishing destinations in the world. Plans call for the marina and 18-hole golf course to be completed in 2010. A completion date for the entire project, including the two hotels, private residences and commercial space, was not announced.
