AUSTRALIAN JOHN KENDALL, owner of Tulums popular Mezzanine hotel has opened La Zebra Beach Cantina & Cabanas in Tulum, a 10-cabana beach property that promises a rustic, jungle-chic experience two hours south of Cancun. THE VILLA GROUP said it planned to open the 231-room Villa del Arco Beach Resort and Desert Spa on July 13 in Cabo San Lucas. The property is adjacent to the Villa La Estancia and Villa del Palmar Beach Resort & Spa properties in a gated resort development owned by the Villa Group. The property will offer one- to three-bedroom suites, deluxe studios and penthouse suites. THE OWNERS OF PUEBLO BONITO ROSE RESORT & SPA are investing more than $5 million to renovate the all-suite property during the next six months. All guest rooms will be renovated with new headboards, love seats, curtains, furniture, TVs and artwork. The resorts spa will be updated with new fitness equipment, Jacuzzis and steam rooms, and the tennis courts will be resurfaced. Pueblo Bonito Rose recently opened an Italian bistro called Fellinis. IN OTHER PUEBLO BONITO NEWS, the Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay Resort in Mazatlan will open a 15,000-square-foot spa next January. The spa will feature 14 treatment rooms, including a couples massage and VIP rooms, while a wet area will include Jacuzzis, steam rooms, Swiss showers and a cold plunge pool. The spa will include a state-of-the-art fitness center, beauty salon and boutique.
