MAS DINERO: International travel to Mexico this March generated $1.91 billion in revenue, b30.6% more than the same month last year and a record, according to Sectur, the Mexican tourism ministry. Also, Mexico welcomed 2.16 million international tourists in March, an 18.7% jump.

March revenue pushed earnings to $3.48 billion in the first quarter, a 19.4% increase, while arrivals for the quarter totaled 5.8 million, 12.3% more than 2004. Also up: cruise arrivals, visitor spending, and hotel occupancy.

PALATIAL DIGS: Palace Resorts opened its first property on Cozumel, the luxury all-inclusive Cozumel Palace, on June 1. Formerly the Hotel Plaza Las Glorias Cozumel, the 176-room property has undergone renovations since early 2004. Upgrades included installation of double Jacuzzis in every room and renovation of the lobby, pools and common areas.
