Travel Weekly's Mexico E-letter: Nov. 21, 2007

MEXICO BOUTIQUE HOTELS launched a concierge service that offers customers assistance across separate hotels in multiple destinations. Mexico Boutique Hotels, which includes 45 properties -- typically with fewer than 50 rooms each -- hired Rocio Martinez Quintal, a member of the prestigious Clefs D'Or association of international hotel concierges, to lead the new service. A week prior to the guest's arrival, Martinez Quintal contacts guests to confirm details of the reservation, recommend what to pack, offer a weather forecast and share information about recommended tours and activities in the area. The service is also available while the guest is at the property. The concierge service is available from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. Call (800) 728-9098 or visit www.mexicoboutiquehotels.com.

EL DORADO SPA RESORTS & HOTELS BY KARISMA launched a new room category, El Dorado Casitas Royale, at the El Dorado Royale, a Spa Resort, in the Riviera Maya. The new suites, which are being marketed as a "hotel within a hotel," are sold in two categories: the ocean-level Infinity Pool Swim-Up Casita Suites and second-story Infinity Pool Casita Suites. The ground-level Swim-Up suites feature private pools that connect to a "winding river" and swim-up bars, and the second-story suites feature private pools and unobstructed ocean views. Both categories feature king-size four-poster beds, oversize bathrooms with outdoor showers, ample lounging space and upgraded amenities. Prices for Infinity Pool Casita Suites range from $440 to $520 a night, per person. Call (888) 280-7558 or visit www.eldorado-resort.com.

THE CASA de SIERRA NEVADA, an Orient-Express Hotel in San Miguel de Allende, opened Casa Limon, an 18th century mansion with six distinctly decorated suites; an outdoor, heated pool; a library; a business center; and butler service. Situated one-and-a-half blocks from the main city square of San Miguel de Allende, the Casa de Sierra Nevada is a mix of 16th to 18th century Spanish colonial buildings, including nine mansions and a 17th century fort, featuring a combined 32 rooms and suites.
