DESTINATION
VENTURES, the Bend, Ore.-based company that produces
Mexico travel seminars, is expanding its training program for
agents to include real estate opportunities for vacation rentals
and investing. In a new series of seminars titled "The Good Life in
Mexico: Doing It Right," Destination Ventures will educate agents
about the growing demand for Mexico as a retirement destination and
ways to tap into this market by selling "look-see" vacations to
potential buyers as well as selling nontraditional accommodations
such as condos and villas to home buyers. "Agents can broaden their
Mexico horizons by learning about the needs of North American
retirees and second-home buyers," said Greg Custer, vice president
of Destination Ventures. "Thousands of new private homes, condos
and villas and being built in Mexico, giving travel agents
something to offer clients beyond the traditional hotel stay, with
the potential to profit in new ways," Custer said.
THE NEW
TRAINING PRODUCT will include seminars in six West Coast
cities from Oct. 22 to Nov. 9. The four-hour evening seminars will
cover such topics as Mexican real estate purchase legalities,
financing, bank trusts, real estate taxes and title insurance. The
cost is $98 for agents, including food and beverage. Seminar
attendees will receive a 16-page workbook with real estate resource
and contact information. Destination Ventures is offering the
seminars in conjunction with About Choosing Mexico, a joint-venture
company of Mexico travel and real estate specialists. Details and
online registration is available at www.choosingmexico-seminars.com or by calling (800)
