SHANGRI-LA Hotels and Resorts, based in Hong Kong, signed a deal with Indias Adarsh Group to operate three new hotels in Bangalore, India, beginning August 2007. The Shangri-La in the business district of Bangalore will incorporate dining, entertainment, meeting and banquet facilities and will feature a spa with treatments based on Chinese and Himalayan healing traditions. The second of the three properties will be a Traders hotel, which will open with 250 rooms near International Tech Park, about five miles from the airport. The third property will be a 330-room Shangri-La branded business retreat and spa in the IT Corridor, about four miles from the airport. It will open in December 2008. A second phase of construction will add 200 more rooms and 200 serviced apartments.

NEWMANS South Pacific Vacations instituted a best-price guarantee, stating that if a travel agent can find a wholesaler with a better price for the same products and services that Newmans offers, Newmans will match the price and pay the customer a bonus of 10% of the difference between the Newmans price and the competitors price.

TAHITI LEGENDS is offering three packages in which meals are included at InterContinental resorts in Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora. A five-night Moorea & Tahiti package is priced from $1,899 per person, double. Five breakfasts and five dinners are included. A five-night Bora Bora & Tahiti package includes five dinners and five breakfasts and starts at $3,229 per person. An eight-night Bora Bora & Moorea package includes four nights at the Bora Bora Le Moana InterContinental in a beach bungalow and four nights at the Moorea InterContinental Resort & Spa Moorea in a garden suite bungalow. NIKKO HOTELS is expanding in China with hotels in two cities, Dalian and Tianjin. Nikko is converting the Hilton Dalian to the Hotel Oriental Palace Dalian. It will open April 20. The 372-room property was originally built in 2000. The Tianjin property, a new construction, is slated to open in July 2007. It will have 373 guest rooms, as well as restaurants, a bar, a banquet hall, meeting rooms, an indoor pool, a spa and fitness room and a business center.

CORRECTION: A drawing for two tickets to Sydney will be held at the end of the travel agent seminar series sponsored by Australian Pacific Touring and Qantas Airways.
