HAWAIIAN
AIRLINES is adding four Boeing 767-300s to its fleet and
is recalling 22 furloughed pilots to accommodate an expanded
transpacific flight schedule. Effective September 6, Hawaiian will
make its daily summer service between San Diego-Maui a year-round
option, also adding seven nonstop flights per week to Maui from
Seattle and Portland. Effective November 19, Hawaiian will add four
weekly flights between Sacramento and Honolulu and three weekly
flights to its Seattle-Honolulu schedule.
MEANWHILE,
THRIFTY CAR RENTAL has signed on with Hawaiian Airlines
frequent-flyer rewards program. As an introductory special, Thrifty
is offering double mileage rewards on midsize and larger rentals
between June 1 and September 30.
THE ALA
MOANA HOTEL is honoring the completion of its first-phase
room renovations with specials good for bookings through June 30,
2006. Rates range from $169 for a renovated Waikiki Tower room,
$139 for a renovated Kona Tower room and $139 for a Waikiki Tower
room that has not been renovated. Bookings are commissionable at

UNITED
AIRLINES is launching several new flights, adding San
Diego and Seattle to its Hawaii-U.S. mainland routes, with weekend
service between both cities and Honolulu. Also, effective June 8,
the carrier is adding three daily flights to existing routes.
NORWEGIAN
CRUISE LINE lost money on its Hawaii interisland cruises
in the first quarter. The company blamed rising payroll and fuel
costs for the $28.1 million loss. A third ship, the Pride of
Hawaii, largest of NCLs three-ship interisland fleet, is set to
start service in June. Also, NCL has announced plans, effective
this fall, to move its Hawaii ship-training program to the Islands
from Maryland.
