STEVE TRACAS is poised to take the helm at Vacation.com, following the announcement last week that CEO Dick Knodt is stepping down. Knodt was named president and CEO of Vacation.com in 2001 after serving as the organizations chief operating officer for nearly three years. Tracas was formerly president of Orbitz for Business, the online travel agencys unit focused on corporate travel. He also was vice president of sales and marketing for US Airways and held a number of management positions at American Airlines and Sabre.

KNODT said he would serve as a consultant to Vacation.com and Amadeus, Vacation.coms parent, until June 30. Tracas will join Vacation.com on April 17. He will be based at Vacation.coms headquarters in Alexandria, Va., and will be responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of the organization serving the U.S. and Canada.

IN OTHER VACATION.COM NEWS, Stevens Travel Management, the corporate travel agency headquartered in New York, has joined the network. The agency will utilize Vacation.coms preferred-supplier relationships to market leisure travel to its corporate accounts and power its vertical search engine with vacation products.
