THE FAB
FOUR -- or at least their wax images -- have taken up
temporary residence at Madame Tussauds in the Venetian
Resort-Hotel-Casino. The Beatles attraction, on loan from Madame
Tussauds London through July 4, was unveiled last week by members
of Fab Four Mania, the Beatles tribute show that can be seen at the
V Theater in the Aladdin. The display shows John Lennon, Paul
McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr as they appeared in
1964, with mop-top haircuts and collarless jackets.
THE
BEATLES wax figures can be seen in the new On Stage
attraction with fellow (wax) music superstars Mick Jagger, Elton
John, Elvis, Bono, Jimi Hendrix, Bruce Springsteen, Prince, James
Brown and Tupac Shakur. The figure of the late rapper Shakur was
installed in April at Madame Tussauds. In mid-May, Madame Tussauds
welcomed the likeness of Michael Crawford, the original Phantom of
the Opera star, in its Legends of Vegas section. Incidentally, the
exhibition of the figures of the Beatles and Crawford coincide with
the start of previews for Love, the Beatles-themed Cirque du Soleil
show at the Mirage and Phantom -- The Las Vegas Spectacular at the
Venetian.
