THE LAS VEGAS CONVENTION AND VISITORS AUTHORITY (LVCVA) launched its first Spanish-language Web site designed specifically for visitors originating in Mexico. The site, located at, contains comprehensive destination information, including the latest details about golf, shopping, entertainment, lodging, spas and dining, as well as Las Vegas travel tips. For the travel industry, there are listings containing contact information for travel agents and tour operators in Mexico and links to airlines that fly between Mexico and Las Vegas.

AOL LATINO AND VEGAS.COM launched a cobranded, Spanish-language travel Web site, located at or through AOL Keyword: Vegas Viajes, to provide Spanish-speaking consumers with the latest information and booking tools for those wishing to visit Las Vegas.

RENT-A-VETTE LAS VEGAS, one of the citys premier exotic car rental companies, and Wildside USA, a Las Vegas- and London-based event management company that specializes in motor sports events, have teamed up to offer three new tours -- SportsCar Las Vegas, SuperCar Las Vegas and Ultimate Tour Las Vegas -- that combine the sights of the Las Vegas Valley with the opportunity to drive various luxury sports cars. Available starting the first week in November, the tours range in price from $299 per person to $699 per person and are commissionable at 12.5%. All follow the same general format -- the 120-mile route is divided into five legs, with each leg driven in a different car. Vehicles used include a Porsche Boxter S, a Nissan 350Z, a Chevrolet Corvette, a BMW Z4, a Prowler Roadster, a Ferrari 360 Modena, a Dodge Viper SRT-10, a Maserati¬† Spyder and a Porsche 996 Carrera. The third excursion, the Ultimate Tour Las Vegas, is available only to groups and includes all of the features of the SportsCar Tour Las Vegas or the SuperCar Tour Las Vegas (depending on which fleet of cars is chosen) as well as a helicopter flight over Lake Mead, a 45-minute Lake Las Vegas cruise aboard the 86-foot Las Contessa motor yacht and a gourmet lunch served on a terrace overlooking Lake Las Vegas. PREVIEW PERFORMANCES OF FORBIDDEN VEGAS, a musical comedy revue with more than 30 parodies of famous Las Vegas headliners, attractions and entertainment productions, will start Nov. 19; the shows world premiere is scheduled for Jan. 18. Directed by Gerard Alessandrini, the creator of Forbidden Broadway, the show will be performed at the Westin Theatre in the Westin Casuarina Hotel & Spa Thursdays through Tuesdays at 8 p.m. with additional performances on Thursdays and Saturdays at 10 p.m. Preview ticket prices are $39.95 plus applicable tax and fees. THE UNITED IN MEMORY 9/11 VICTIMS MEMORIAL QUILT, a 16,000-square-foot quilt memorializing every victim of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, will be on display at the Tropicana Resort & Casino Las Vegas from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 19 through 21. The quilt is made up of more than 3,000 18-inch fabric quilt blocks that include personalized photos, memories and stories. There is no cost to see the exhibition.
