Microsoft recently sold its 1 millionth air ticket through its
various travel technologies, including its on-line agency, Expedia.
I'd crack a joke here, but I'm afraid it might crash my copy of
Word or Windows 95 or something.
According to Travel Industry Association figures, two of every
five U.S. adults attended or participated in an organized sporting
event while on a trip of 50 miles or more during the past five
years. The TIA poll failed to note, however, that the remaining
three of those five U.S. adults were really, really annoyed that
the other two didn't want to do more sightseeing.
American Airlines and American Eagle are offering "relief" fares
from the U.S. to many Caribbean destinations that were hit by
Hurricane Georges. Upon learning of the fares, some hopeful but
na´ve agents were disappointed to learn that "relief" didn't also
include higher commissions.
