Tripology, the online travel referral service, introduced its Travel Industry Supporter Program, designed to financially benefit registered Tripologists who book travel with participating providers.
Agents registered with Tripology buy "leads" from the site posted by potential clients. Now, when a Tripologist books with a program provider, the provider reimburses the cost of the lead to the agent, said Veronique Deblois, vice president of travel trade sales and marketing for Tripology.
Participating supporters include Avalon Waterways, Globus, Trafalgar, Collette Vacations, Hurtigruten, Hariworld, CenTrav, Variety Cruises and Pacific Delight, and Tripology said it's working to sign up more suppliers.
"In these tough economic times, many suppliers had contacted us asking for ways to support the agent community," said Deblois. "The program is not a preferred-supplier program but a cost-effective way for Tripologists to get compensated for some of their leads. It's a win-win for both our travel specialists and travel industry providers."
For travel specialists, the new program offers the opportunity to garner free lead credits for bookings made with participating industry supporters. For industry supporters, it means more exposure to new clients via Tripology's 12,500 registered travel specialists.
The company has received and processed more than 85,000 trip requests since the consumer launch of Tripology.com in June 2007.
