TAIPEI, Taiwan -- The observation deck on the 89th floor of Taiwans new skyscraper, Taipei 101, opened Jan. 19.

The 1,679-foot-tall building, which opened Dec. 31, is the worlds tallest, 184 feet taller than the previous record-holders, the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Taipei 101s owners say the skyscraper will attract 1 million visitors a year and become Taiwans top tourist attraction.

Tourists will pay about $11 to ride to the observation platform.
