In an effort to promote Hangzhou
as “one of the happiest cities in China,” the Hangzhou Tourism Commission is
inviting two families, one American and one Chinese, and a “storyteller” to
participate in its social media campaign, Global Tour 2015.
The campaign is accepting submissions from families and storytellers who wish to partake in a
free 30-day trip beginning with seven days in Hangzhou, before hitting
Dunhuang, China; Mykonos, Greece; Dubrovnik, Croatia; Venice; Geneva; Paris; Boston;
and ending in New York.
To enter, families must complete a
questionnaire and submit a video via YouTube (30-60 seconds) convincing both
the public and panel of judges why they should be the ambassadors for Hangzhou.
Journalists or social media enthusiasts who wish to be considered for the role
of storyteller must complete two writing assignments and are encouraged to post
on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram to show their social media expertise and

submissions until June 11, and the winners will be announced on June 18. The
Hangzhou Global Tour will take place from July 24 to Aug. 22.
Hangzhou expects to welcome 4
million inbound tourists annually by 2017.
