Travel suppliers in the Pacific archipelago of Palau are preparing
for a surge in business following the recently completed season of
the TV show Survivor. Palau was the setting for the CBS series.
Traffic on the Palau
Visitors Authority Web site, www.visit-palau.com, has skyrocketed from 1,000
hits a month prior to the show to nearly 7 million in February when
the series made its debut for the 10th season, according to the
authoritys director, Mary Ann Delanel.
With the strong
surge in interest in the island, the visitors authority coordinated
an effort among local suppliers to offer vacation packages. A
sampling follows:
For example, the
Cliffside Hotel Palau and Neco Marine have partnered to offer a
seven-night package with five days of scuba diving for two at

Palau Pacific Resort
created the Survivor Ultra Challenge, priced at $ $2,200.70,
