Relief Riders plans fall 'voluntourism' trip to India

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Relief Riders International, a company that combines tourism with volunteer service ("voluntourism"), is planning a trip to Rajasthan, India, departing Oct. 6.

The 14-night trip will combine traditional sightseeing outings with relief activities, such as distributing medical or educational supplies and food, assisting in medical activities. The cost is $5,400 per person, double, and covers lodging and all meals, transfers and all fees in regards to the humanitarian aspect of the trip.

Founded by Alexander Souri, a filmmaker and creator of special effects for films like "The Matrix" and "The X-Men," Relief Riders works in partnership with organizations like the Indian Red Cross to provide its clients with opportunities to provide voluntary service at travel destinations.
