Ritz Tours adds Vietnam itineraries to repertoire

ALHAMBRA, Calif. -- Ritz Tours added Vietnam to its product line for 2005.

The company is selling Vietnam through a trio of Super Value Extensions, or trips that can be added to the end of all Ritz itineraries (except its Japan Experience program).

Ritz also offers Super Value Extensions programs to Hong Kong, Bangkok and Tokyo.

Evan Chan, director of Ritz Tours Asia division, said the extensions have been popular with clients -- and agents -- because they enable customers to see more of Asia at a competitive price.

In this competitive marketplace that is driven by price, we must continue to enhance our tour product, so it made sense for us to add Vietnam, which is rapidly growing as a tourist destination, said Chan. Were confident the increased interest in Vietnam will make this new add-on a major seller.

The Vietnam itineraries include individual trips to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, and a trip that combines the two destinations.

The three-night Hanoi Super Value Extension, including roundtrip air fare from Hong Kong or Bangkok, starts at $550 per person, double. The trip includes one full day of touring with visits to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, One Pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature, Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple.  The trip includes arrival and departure transfers by private car, accommodations in the Sofitel Plaza or the Hilton Hanoi Opera and daily breakfast.  The three-night Ho Chi Minh Super Value Extension, including roundtrip air fare from Hong Kong or Bangkok, starts at $550 per person, double.

This itinerary includes a half-day tour with stops at Notre Dame Cathedral, the French-colonial Post Office, the Presidential Palace, the War Museum, Chinatown, Thien Hau Pagoda and the Ben Thanh Market. It also includes a half-day tour of the Cu Chi Tunnels, the intricate complex of underground tunnels used during the Vietnam War.  The itinerary includes accommodations at the Sofitel Plaza or the Renaissance Riverside and daily breakfast.

The five-night Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi itinerary starts at $800 per person, double, including roundtrip air fare from Hong Kong or Bangkok. The itinerary includes three nights in Hanoi and two nights in Ho Chi Minh City, arrival and departure transfers by private car and daily breakfast.

It includes a full-day tour of Hanoi, a day of leisure in Hanoi, a half-day tour of Ho Chi Minh City and a half-day excursion to the Cu Chi Tunnels.

All Vietnam Super Value Extensions are scheduled between March 1 and Nov. 30. For information or reservations, call (800) 900-2446 or visit www.ritztours.com.
