Altamer Resort to add Anguilla's first marina facility

Altamer Resort, a luxury villa complex on Anguilla's Shoal Bay West, has partnered with Fort Lauderdale-based Island Global Yachting on a joint venture development that will include an upscale, 164-unit hotel; retail and residential components; and the destination's first marina facility.

The megayacht marina, scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2009, will feature a 101-slip marina capable of accommodating boats and yachts up to 300 feet long and will serve as an official port of entry to Anguilla.

The luxury resort will be situated at the marina and close to the existing villa complex, which includes four-story beachfront units with elevators, marble bathrooms, Jacuzzi tubs, fully-equipped kitchens, wet bars, sports facilities, Internet access, game rooms and a staff of 10 for each unit.

No timetable has been set for the hotel opening as of yet.
