Amex partners with Caribbean organizations to market brand

American Express signed on as a partner in the joint venture recently launched by the Caribbean Hotel Association and the Caribbean Tourism Organization to market the Caribbean brand under the Caribbean Tourism Development Co. umbrella.

As part of the partnership, American Express' Consumer Travel Network -- the firm's travel agency network in the U.S. -- will incorporate the new Caribbean brand logo in its marketing and promotional efforts.

"The visibility afforded by the 600-plus travel agencies and call centers in North America [in American Express' Consumer Travel Network] will help to position the Caribbean with North American consumers to drive tourism to the region," said Dianelys Rodriguez, vice president of destination business development for American Express.

The Caribbean logo will be featured in conjunction with Amex's Beyond the Beach promotion, targeting card members with promotional mailings and within promotion's Web site, at www.beyond-the-beach.com.

American Express also is one of the sponsors of the booking engine now under construction for www.caribbeantravel.com, the official lodging Web site of CTDC.
