The Malliouhana Hotel & Spa in Anguilla closed May 22 and will reopen by Thanksgiving, following completion of a renovation.
The 55-room resort usually closes in September and October and reopens Nov. 1.
"Given the current economic climate and the increasingly competitive nature of the industry, it made the best business sense, although the decision to close for the summer was not an easy one," according to Nigel Roydon, general manager and managing director.
Guests holding reservations are being accommodated at alternative resorts on the island.
